I already have a full-time job, so I don't have a lot of spare time for web design. But when I can, I like to help out. Here are my rates as of September, 2002:
Domain Name Setup: $20 per domain name, per year
You can do this yourself for a few bucks less using GANDI, a small internet domain registrar in France. They're too small to pay a commission on referrals, but they're also very inexpensive, and not as likely as the other low-end registrars to spam you or poach your domain! The only problem is that their interface is not very user-friendly, especially if you don't speak French. Moi, je parle français (un peu), il n'y a aucun problème.
If you'd like a more interactive interface, I recommend Domain Direct. For one thing, they give me a 20% commission when you click that link. Their interface is very easy to use. But they have an annoying habit of emailing everyone in your domain when your domain name is about to expire -- even if you've transferred to another registrar. And they're significantly more expensive -- around twice the price of GANDI.
Web Hosting: $100 per year
I do much of my hosting with Neologism Productions, a true mom-and-pop business based in North Texas. On their site, you'll see all the features that are offerred, including unlimited web-based email @yourdomainname.com.
Again, you can do this yourself! Just go to Neologism Productions and sign up. If you could put "littlecutie.net" in the "referral" box, I'd appreciate it (the reward is a free month for me!).
Initial Site Design: free with domain and hosting!
If you'll let me set up your domain name and hosting, I'll create a simple web site for free! Just give me your brochure or a writeup about your services, and I'll put it all together. This will just be a simple, "starter" site... but it'll give you what you need to put your web address on your business card.
News Updates: $20 setup, $5 per update
Using a Weblog service like Blogger, it's easy to keep your site updated with the latest news about your product or service. I can do the updates for you (for $5 each), or you can do it yourself for free!
Page Updates: $10 per page
New Pages: $20 and up, depending on complexity
Of course, you can do these yourself as well. In fact, once the site is set up, it's yours! I'll register everything in your name -- you don't have to worry about who owns your domain name. You get all the passwords and access codes.
Sound interesting? Well, just send a note to robertb (at) littlecutie (dot) net and we'll talk about getting you on the 'net!
Thank you for visiting!
